Een kleine update:
Hi all! Today I had a conversation with Dr Bassem Daniel who is one of the co-authors of Dr Tommy Nai-Jen Chang's latest publication, the case report from July 2021. He's a microsurgeon at University Hospital Freiburg in Germany and worked for two years at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in 2017/2018, where he took part in a fellowship-program. He was part of the team of the first few reversals at that time. He told me that they could do the reversal with the da Vinci robot in Freiburg. Now they still need to get an approval from the German ethics commission, because the reversal is still in an experimental stage. Nevertheless, chances are good that in a few months there'll be another place in Europe offering robotic reversals. BTW we didn't talk about the costs yet. Many thanks to Dr Chang for offering your support and sharing your experience!
Update (16.09.2021): Today I talked to Dr Daniel again. Well, they are still waiting for the approval from the ethics commission. The start of the service in January seems to be realistic. Nothing can be said about the costs yet. He will inform us, as soon as they'll get the approval.
